i am in love with mother earth

i am Kenyatta and i have been called to return to my homeland and for the past year of being here (Jamaica), it has become clearer and clearer why. i have come full circle bringing back all the gifts i received as well as to continue to heal my disconnected roots.

the vision that came to me is that of a wellness nest -> wellnest. that is a sustainable farmstead (based on sustainable permaculture principles) where we relearn the old way of living in harmony with self, nature, growing and preserving foods and herbs etc. all while healing the disconnection to self, each other, ancestors and the earth. there will be wellness, nature, art & cultural programs for the children as well as wellness programs for adults locally and abroad.

a mentor of mine introduced me to the idea of the power of one. i thought she could not be thinking of me. she obviously doesn't know me very well. this was the timid, cautious, hiding in the background, staying very little, me of that time.

fast forward some years later, i am revisiting this concept.

“'the power of one' is the theory that one person can change the future, that one person's actions can actually change the lives of many.” ~ Dr. Kate Biberdorf~

this was certainly true for my teacher, Thich Nhat Hanh. he was born in that small corner of the world (Hue, Vietnam) and was able to impact so many lives.

i have been guided to this wisdom and kept seeing that i can't wait for anyone to make the changes that i would like to see in this world. my capacity grew just enough to feel brave enough as well as connected enough with my ancestors and the universe to venture into the unknown of realizing this vision.

first step

find a beautiful farmland
